Membership Information


I am pleased to provide you with information regarding membership with the Charlotte City Club. The Charlotte City Club, established in 1947, is the Southeast's premier private dining club. Located atop the 121 West Trade building in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, our Club is ideal for entertaining, business or socializing, and oh what a view!

You will find that the City Club offers each of its Members a relaxed environment featuring gracious service and outstanding food. Additionally, our reciprocal roster currently includes over 350 exceptional private Clubs throughout the US and abroad, and is updated regularly to meet our Members' traveling needs. Our Members can also enjoy golf privileges on exclusive courses such as the Dunes Golf and Beach Club, Firethorne Golf and Country Club, River Run Country Club, River Hills Country Club, the Verdict Ridge Country Club, the Country Club of Asheville and High Meadows Golf and Country Club. Furthermore, we also have an association with the Charlotte Athletic Club which provides our members with an athletic option.

The Club has many special events scheduled throughout the year that our Members and their families can enjoy. Such events include Mother's Day, Easter and Thanksgiving Brunch, Carolina Panthers Tailgate Buffets, Family Night, Magic Night Dinners, Winemaker Dinners, Halloween Buffet and Date Nights. We also have several very popular Affinity Clubs or “Clubs within the Club” like the Vintner's Club, the Humidor and Scotch Society, the Investment Strategy Club, the Golf Club, the Barley and Hops Society and the Culinary Academy that may be of interest.

Online Request for Membership Information

Membership Classifications

Resident Members shall be persons who reside in or whose primary place of business is in the County of Mecklenburg or its adjacent counties (Gaston, Lincoln, Iredell, Cabarrus, Union, York and Lancaster) and have attained at least 35 years of age. 

Young Professional Members shall follow the same residential and business guidelines as Resident Members and be between the ages of 21 and 34.

Non-Resident Members shall be all persons who reside and whose primary place of business is outside the area outlined for Resident Members.

Executive Memberships will be held in the name of a individual. However, the corporation or firm that individual is associated with at the time of joining may transfer this membership to any one designee within the respective business.  The new designee must submit a membership application for review by the Membership Committee and Board of Governors.  A reassignment fee is required with each new designee of an Executive Membership. Upon attaining Executive Membership, full privileges associated with the Resident member category are conveyed including full club privileges for both the Member and his or her spouse.
